Battery
Bunnies of Washington
They are the
Battery Bunnies of Washington. They just keep spending, and spending,
and spending, and spending
And who are
these perpetual motion machines of big time giveaways? Who are these
amazing marvels of money madness? Why, they are our own home-grown,
made in USA, career politicians, that's who.
How do they
manage it? How do these wondrous Battery Bunnies of incredible longevity
manage to keep spending, and spending, and spending? With OPM, that's
how.
Want a dam
in your district? It's only OPM.
The big corporation
isn't quite making it and needs a subsidy? It's only OPM.
Need a hospital
in your district, so your big contributors can get the contracts?
No problem! It's only OPM.
Who, me cut
spending? Not me, its only OPM.
Ahhhh
I'll bet you've guessed it. OPM is other people's money.
The battery
in the back of each of these careerist reelection rabbits is OPM.
It never runs down, because they only go out and borrow more. Or
get a contribution from their favorite lobbyist. The drums they
beat are for their own reelection.
One other thing.
The money you send to Washington out of your paycheck each week?
Thaaat's right to those guys it's OPM.
They know they
can raise your taxes again and get more. They know they can mortgage
your children's future with a crushing national debt.
Who cares?
They don't, so long as they can stay in office. After all, it's
only OPM.
They haven't
cut spending in years. And years. They just keep spending, and spending,
and spending. It's only OPM.
Citizens for
Term Limits believes that the only solution for this fiscal folly
is limited terms. Term limits will replace members of Congress who
put their own job security and endless spending ahead of the country's
future, with citizen legislators who will behave more prudently,
because they will have only a limited time in which to serve the
country, then return home to live among their neighbors under the
laws they have just passed.
