U.S. Term Limits Thanks Representative-Elect Greg Landsman
for Signing Term Limits Pledge with a Billboard in his District
Cincinnati, OH/December 5, 2022 – U.S. Term Limits (USTL), the leader in the non-partisan national movement to limit terms for elected officials, congratulates Representative-elect Greg Landsman on his victory in Ohio’s 1st Congressional District by sponsoring a billboard thanking him for signing his U.S. Term Limits pledge. Landsman ousted incumbent Steve Chabot, who also signed the U.S. Term Limits pledge and cosponsored the resolution in Congress.
The 14 x 48-foot digital billboard, located on Ridge Road at the Oakley Station in Cincinnati, will run from December 5, 2022 through the end of January 2023.
The pledge, signed by Landsman in April of this year, promises that once he is sworn in as U.S. Representative, he will cosponsor the resolution to propose a congressional term limits amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The proposal, once passed by Congress and ratified by 38 states, would limit members of the U.S. House of Representatives to 6-years and members of the U.S. Senate to 12-years maximum.
“We want to congratulate Landsman on his victory in Ohio’s first congressional district and his unwavering commitment to imposing term limits on Congress,” said Nick Tomboulides, Executive Director of U.S. Term Limits. “The billboard in his district acknowledges our gratitude for his support on this critical election reform.”
The 2022 election saw a record number of U.S. Term Limits’ pledge signers elected to Congress. Last session, House Joint Resolution 12 (HJR12) and Senate Joint Resolution 3 (SJR3) had 102 cosponsors from both major parties. This upcoming legislature, support is expected to exceed 130, or at least a 28% increase.
“Congressional term limits is not a Democratic or Republican issue; it is an American issue with more than 82% support among voters of all political affiliations,” added Tomboulides. “We are excited that Rep. Landsman will be a champion for congressional term limits in the upcoming 118th Congress.”
