Rep. Dan Fister Receives Plaque for Signing U.S. Term Limits Pledge
Frankfort, KY —Kentucky state Representative Dan Fister (district 56) has been recognized for his support of a Term Limits Amendment on Congress. This amendment was proposed by the U.S. Term Limits Pledge, which requires Dan Fister to cosponsor, vote for, and defend the resolution for an Article V convention, for the sole purpose of enforcing term limits on Congress
Rachel McCubbin, the U.S. Term Limits State Chair, presented a plaque to Representative Fister at the Kentucky State Capitol in Frankfort. In her presentation, McCubbin commended Fister’s dedication to this reform, which aims to empower state legislatures to propose a Congressional Term Limits Amendment under Article V of the U.S. Constitution.
The amendment has garnered support from more than 15 fellow legislators, reflecting the desire of constituents for term limits on Congress. It is important to note that term limits enjoy strong bipartisan support in Kentucky, with 74% of Republicans, 81% of Democrats, and 68% of Independents supporting the idea, according to a recent Kentucky poll conducted by RMG Research.
The path to enacting term limits on Congress requires ratification by 38 of the 50 states, once the amendment is proposed by Congress or by states at a national convention. Representative Fister’s efforts and the support of many other legislators indicate that the movement for term limits on Congress is gaining momentum in Kentucky.
