84% of Alaska Voters Support Term Limits on Congress
76% of Alaskans Wants Legislature To Pass Resolution Calling for an Amendment Proposing Convention for Congressional Term Limits

Anchorage, AK – A new poll of likely Alaska voters conducted by RMG Research on January 2-10, 2024 found an overwhelming 84% of Alaskans favor term limits for Congress.  This reflects sentiments in favor of congressional term limits in other states as well.  The poll showed that 76% of Alaskans want the Alaska legislature in the 2023 session to pass a resolution that would call for an amendment proposing convention for congressional term.  Seventy percent of the respondents want their state lawmakers to support such an issue.

The poll also reveals that 80% of voters would be more likely to vote for a candidate who supported congressional term limits.  In recent elections, it has become evident that candidates who do not support term limits have become vulnerable to those candidates who do.

“What we are seeing here is the tremendous impact and popularity of term limits in Alaska and across the nation,” said Nick Tomboulides, Executive Director of U.S. Term Limits.

Support for congressional term limits was broad-based among all political affiliations and demographics.

The survey was conducted January 2-10, 2024 by RMG Research, Inc. with a margin of sampling error, +/- 4.3 percentage points.
