U.S. Term Limits Praises Jojo Stewart for Signing Pledge
West Plains, MO – U.S. Term Limits (USTL), the leader in the national, non-partisan movement to limit terms for elected officials, is gathering support from lawmakers and candidates across Missouri. Its mission is to advocate for term limits on all elected officials. State house candidate, Jojo Stewart of district 154, has committed to defend term limits in Missouri by signing the term limits pledge.
USTL President, Philip Blumel, commented on Stewart’s pledge saying, “Jojo’s support of term limits shows that there are individuals who are willing to listen to the majority of voters who want term limits. The people are best served by citizen legislators, not career politicians.”
The pledge is provided to candidates and elected officials statewide. It reads, “I pledge to take no action that would aid or abet the abolition or lengthening of term limits to which elected officials in Missouri are subject.”
According to the latest polling on term limits for Missouri State lawmakers conducted by RMG Research in 2021, term limits enjoys wide bipartisan support. RMG’s analysis states, “Missouri voters overwhelmingly support the state’s current 8-year term limits law, while rejecting a possible change which would allow legislators to stay in office longer. Support for current term limits is broad across all political and demographic groups. By a decisive margin of 75% to 16%, Missouri voters oppose changing term limits.

Our mission is to improve the quality of government with a citizen legislature that closely reflects its constituency and is responsive to the needs of the people it serves.
