New Poll: 77% of Texas Voters Support Term Limits on Congress
Austin, TX – A new poll of registered Texas voters conducted by RMG Research on January 9-10, 2025 found an overwhelming 77% favor term limits for Congress. This reflects sentiments in favor of congressional term limits in other states as well. The poll showed that 67% of Texans would want their state senator and state representative to favor legislation calling for a convention to propose congressional term limits.
The poll also reveals that 69% of voters would be more likely to vote for a candidate who supported congressional term limits. In recent elections, it has become evident that candidates who do not support term limits have become vulnerable to those candidates who do.
Texas State Chair for U.S. Term Limits Brandon Herrera says, “Now more than ever before, the need for term limits is crystal clear. Polls show that one issue that unites all Texans regardless of political affiliation is the need for congressional term limits.”
Support for congressional term limits was broad-based among all political affiliations and demographics.
The survey was conducted January 9-10, 2025 by RMG Research, Inc. with a margin of sampling error, +/- 4.3 percentage points.
