David Brog Tapped As Nevada State Chair for U.S. Term Limits
Las Vegas, NV – Today, U.S. Term Limits announces that David Brog has agreed to be the Nevada State Chair for U.S. Term Limits. Brog brings a depth of public service to this role. He has seen first-hand the need for term limits at the federal level and will work tirelessly in his role as Nevada State Chair to see that Nevada adopts a resolution for term limits.
“I am honored to be serving as the Nevada State Chair for U.S. Term Limits,” said David Brog. “The founder’s ideal of the citizen legislator was long ago supplanted by the modern reality of the career politician. As the focus on winning reelection has increased, we’ve suffered steep declines in the political courage and civic virtue the founders exhibited in such abundance.”
“During my years working in the U.S. Senate I saw firsthand how the need to raise money for reelection competed with and often overrode the duty to represent constituents,” continued Brog. “The American people implicitly understand that term limits are the best way to remove this distortion from our politics and return the focus to the people. That’s why term limits are supported by an overwhelming bipartisan majority. ”
David Brog brings an extensive background to his role as Nevada State Chair for U.S. Term Limits. After an accomplished career as a corporate attorney, Brog has devoted most of his life to the government and non-profit sectors.
He served as chief counsel and then chief of staff to Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) in the late 1990s and early 2000s. His work in the Senate brought him firsthand knowledge in the workings of Washington and the need for reform.
In 2006, Brog joined with Pastor John Hagee to launch Christians United for Israel. During Brog’s tenure as executive director, CUFI grew to be the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States with over 10 million members.
In 2015, noted Nevadan philanthropists Sheldon and Miriam Adelson asked Brog to help in the creation and running of the Maccabee Task Force, dedicated to combatting the rising anti-Semitism on America’s college campuses. Brog continues to serve as executive director of the Maccabees, which is now active on 100 campuses across North America.
Brog is also the president of the Edmund Burke Foundation, a policy organization that hosts the annual National Conservatism conference. In 2007, the Forward newspaper listed Brog in its “Forward 50” most influential Jews in America.
Brog is the author of:
- Reclaiming Israel’s History: Roots, Rights, and the Struggle for Peace (2017)
- In Defense of Faith: the Judeo-Christian Idea and the Struggle for Humanity (2010); and
- Standing with Israel: Why Christians Support the Jewish State (2006).
In 2022, Brog was a Republican candidate for Congress in Nevada’s 1st Congressional District. During the campaign, he heard from voters of the disconnect they felt with representatives in Congress and the need for congressional term limits.
He is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School. He lives in Las Vegas with his wife Hila and his two children, Jacob, and Zoey.
