Ekstrom Names Cichon to Texas Board for Congressional Term Limits
Austin, TX — Today, Chris Ekstrom, Chairman of Texas Term Limits for Congress, announced that Aaron Cichon will be joining the Texas board.
“Congress has become an out-of-touch ruling class that is more concerned about power than the people. Americans are right to ask how politicians become multi-millionaires wielding significant power while spending decades in the DC swamp. Is this the vision our Founding Fathers had for our nation? I don’t think so. We can restore their vision by swiftly enacting Congressional term limits. Like so many Texans, I want a truly representative body that thinks first of America and the people. That’s why I am proud to join Chris Ekstrom’s effort to pass a Texas resolution in support of congressional term limits,” said Cichon.
Aaron Cichon is a precinct chairman for the Harris County Republican Party in Houston, Texas. He recently worked as a grassroots volunteer manager for the Tony Buzbee for Mayor campaign in 2019. Aaron is a member of the Club for Growth fellowship program, which equips civic leaders to explain the relationship between a free society, economic liberty, and limited government. He is also a successful Sales Account Manager with a Houston-based predictive maintenance and equipment reliability service company operating in a variety of industries, including the chemical, manufacturing, health care, and commercial real estate sectors.
Raised in Houston by his parents, Aaron graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Marketing, and was a member of the Aggie Corps of Cadets. He also attended Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston. An Eagle Scout, Aaron has two brothers, Maxwell and Brett, and enjoys training at the gym, block walking, and spending time with his family.
“People have had enough of all the political gamesmanship. That’s why we are building tremendous support in Texas. I am thrilled that Aaron has joined our board. He is a next generation leader who gets that Congress has forgotten us and that it is time for term limits,” said Ekstrom.
Chairman Chris Ekstrom is a successful entrepreneur and President of Ekstrom Properties. In 2020, he ran for Congress in Texas’s 13th Congressional District, encompassing Amarillo and Wichta Falls, and proudly signed the term limits pledge. Ekstrom has served as a chairman for the Courageous Conservatives PAC and had been a member of the National Rifle Association.
“Eighty percent of Americans support term limits on Congress, including huge majorities of Democrats, Republicans and independents. This is a rare, truly nonpartisan issue with national appeal. It is time for Texas to join the effort,” added Ekstrom.
Texas has strong supporters in Congress, including Senator Ted Cruz, who sponsors filed the resolution, SJR3, in Congress.
