Ekstrom Names McDonald to Board of Texas for Congressional Term Limits
Austin, TX — Today, Chris Ekstrom, Chairman of Texas for Congressional Term Limits, announced that Kelly McDonald will be joining the board. Ekstrom, McDonald, and Jarchow are working with U.S. Term Limits (USTL) to usher a resolution for a term limits amendment through the Texas state legislature.
“We need to fix Washington. The best way to end the stranglehold of career politicians is to institute term limits on Congress. I am excited to be working with Chris to help get a congressional term limits resolution passed in Texas,” said McDonald.
McDonald is a Montgomery County Precinct 2 Housing Authority Commissioner, a member of the Board of Trustees for the Magnolia Independent School District, a member of the National School Boards Association Advocacy Institute, a 2019 Cohort member of the Leadership Texas Association of School Boards, the Government Affairs Council Chair for the Greater Magnolia Parkway Chamber of Commerce, and President of the Magnolia Rotary Club.
A native Texan, McDonald is currently earning a Bachelors of Arts and Sciences degree in Organizational Leadership from Texas A & M University. Married with three children, she is a successful realtor.
‘I am very pleased Kelly will be joining our efforts in Texas. She brings a wide variety of experience and contacts to help get the word out. With her on the team, I am sure we will be able to communicate this important message across our great state,” said Ekstrom. “There is no more important issue in 2022 than term limiting Congress.”
Chairman Chris Ekstrom is a successful entrepreneur and President of Ekstrom Properties. In 2020, he ran for Congress in Texas 13th Congressional District, encompassing Amarillo and Wichta Falls, and proudly signed the Term Limit pledge. Ekstrom has served as a chairman for the Courageous Conservatives PAC and been a member of the National Rifle Association.
“Term limits has wide support. Most recent polling data shows that eighty percent of Americans support term limits on Congress, including huge majorities of Democrats, Republicans and Independents. This is a rare, truly nonpartisan issue with national appeal,” added Ekstrom.
The term limits convention resolution must be passed by thirty-four states seeking to propose term limits on Congress. The proposal must then be ratified by 38 states in order to become part of the U.S. Constitution.
Texas has strong supporters in the U.S. Congress including Senator Ted Cruz, the main sponsor of USTL’s resolution Senate Joint Resolution 3 (SJR3).
