Kansans Love Term Limits: New Scott Rasmussen Poll
Topeka, KS — According to a new poll conducted by RMG Research, term limits remain incredibly popular in Kansas, with voters wanting to see the state legislature participate in a national convention to propose term limits on Congress.
The poll, which was conducted statewide from May 11-17, shows:
- 83% of voters approve of an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that will place term limits on U.S. Senators and U.S. House Representatives.
- 74% of Kansans favor an amendment proposing convention for term limits on Congress.
- 75% of Kansans favor a senator or state representative who supports term limits for Congress.
- 78% of Kansans would vote for a senator or state representative who supports term limits on Congress.
Support for term limits is broad across all political and demographic groups, with 88 percent of Republicans, 83 percent of Democrats and 76 percent of independents agree that members of Congress need term limits. Large majorities also say that Congress members stay in power for too long, and that they’re more likely to support state lawmakers who help advance congressional term limits
The survey was conducted May 11-17, 2021 by RMG Research, Inc. with a margin of Sampling Error, +/- 4.5 percentage points.
