Mercedes Krause Tapped as Nevada State Co-Chair for U.S. Term Limits
Carson City NV – Today, U.S. Term Limits announces that Mercedes Krause has agreed to be the Nevada State Co-Chair for U.S. Term Limits. Krause brings a depth of both private and public service to this role. She has seen first-hand the need for term limits at the federal level and will work tirelessly in her role as Nevada State Co-Chair to see that Nevada adopts a resolution for term limits.
“I am very honored to be serving as the Nevada State Chair for U.S. Term Limits,” said Mercedes Krause. “Now more than ever before, the need for term limits is crystal clear. Polls show that the one issue all Nevadans regardless of political affiliation are united about is the need for congressional term limits.”
“Serving in Congress has become for many, a lucrative lifelong job rather than a public service,” concluded Krause. “Term limits will help end career politicians and make Congress work better for all Americans.”
“We are honored to have Mercedes leading our efforts in Nevada along with David Brog to pass term limits for Congress,” said Philip Blumel, President of U.S. Term Limits. “Under their guidance, I am confident we will get our term limits resolution passed in Nevada.”
Mercedes Krause was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2001. She attended Montana State University, Bozeman. She earned a master’s degree in educational leadership from Concordia University in 2016. She was a public-school teacher and has three children.
Krause has been affiliated with the following organizations:
- Nevada Minority Affairs Commission
- Nevada Native American Caucus in which she serves as Chair
- NEA-SN Hispanic Caucus
- ACLU Nevada
- NV Muslim Caucus
- Nevada State Education Association
She was a Democratic candidate for Congress in Nevada’s 2nd District in 2022 when she made history in becoming the first Native American woman to run for Congress in Nevada.
