Dr. Sherry O’Donnell Tapped as Michigan State Chair for U.S. Term Limits
Sees The Need for Congressional Term Limits
Lansing, MI – U.S. Term Limits announces that Dr. Sherry O’Donnell has accepted a position as U.S. Term Limits’ Michigan State Chair. Dr. O’Donnell brings a depth of public service to this role. She has seen first-hand the need for term limits at the federal level and will work tirelessly in her role as chair in the state of Michigan to shepherd the term limits resolution through the state legislature.
“I am honored to be serving as the Michigan State Chair for U.S. Term Limits,” said Dr. Sherry O’Donnell. She added, “The founders’ ideal of the citizen legislator was long ago supplanted by the modern reality of the career politician. As the focus on winning reelection has increased, we’ve suffered steep declines in the political courage and civic virtue the founders exhibited in such abundance.”
“Far too often the need by members of Congress to raise money for reelection has competed with and often overrode the duty to represent constituents,” concluded Dr. O’Donnell. She continued, “The American people implicitly understand that term limits are the best way to remove this distortion from our politics and return the focus to the people. That’s why term limits are supported by an overwhelming bipartisan majority.”

Dr. O’Donnell brings an extensive background to her role as Michigan State Chair for U.S. Term Limits. In addition to being a renowned physician, she is also an author, mission leader, speaker, and former 2022 congressional candidate.
In 2011, Dr. Sherry launched Herbie Medical Clinic providing care to the underserved and uninsured. She continues to serve as medical director. She has traveled to 32 different countries leading short-term medical missions and disaster relief. In 2020, she responded to the Covid-19 pandemic by spending weekends caring for patients on the front lines in New York City.
As a respected and influential community leader who serves on local boards, Dr. O’Donnell fosters healing within her community among racially diverse churches and local police through monthly Community Unity Worship Services.
She is a graduate of Oklahoma State University Medical School.
