Rep. Ted Budd Honored for Supporting Congressional Term Limits
Raleigh, NC — U.S. Representative Ted Budd of North Carolina’s 9th congressional district was honored for his steadfast commitment for term limits on Congress. U.S. Term Limits (USTL), the nation’s largest pro-term limits group, honored Budd at the North Carolina capitol earlier this month.
In addition to signing the term limits pledge, Budd cosponsored house joint resolution 12 (HJR12) a measure being shepherded through Congress by USTL. Shanna Chamblee, Legislative Director at the nonprofit presented Budd with a glass award inscribed with his pledge vowing that, as a member of Congress, he will cosponsor and vote an amendment of three (3) house terms and (2) senate terms and no longer limit. More than 92 members of Congress have cosponsored the U.S. House and Senate resolutions.
According to the last North Carolina poll on term limits conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, term limits enjoys wide bipartisan support. 79% of Republicans, 68% of Democrats, and 71% of independents strongly approve of placing term limits on members of Congress.
